One of the highest lakes in the world, Gurudongmar Lake lies at an elevation of 17,800 feet in North Sikkim. The lake is sacred to Buddhists, Sikhs, and Hindus, and is believed to have healing properties. Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, it remains partially frozen even in summer.
